From Japan to Singapore

Henri Charpentier’s story begins in 1969 in the city of Ashiya, Japan. Named after the renowned French chef Henri Charpentier, the brand quickly gained a reputation for its delicate fusion of traditional French pâtisserie and Japanese craftsmanship. Over the years, Henri Charpentier has become a beloved household name in Japan, celebrated for its dedication to creating sweets that bring joy to every occasion. With over 100 stores in Japan, the brand’s artisanal cakes, pastries, and sweets have been enjoyed by generations of dessert lovers.

In 2014, Henri Charpentier took a bold step by opening our first international store in Dempsey Hill – the beginning of a new chapter. Singapore’s vibrant culinary scene and discerning taste for fine desserts was the perfect launch pad for our brand’s international expansion. From the very beginning, the Singaporean public has embraced Henri Charpentier’s unique offering of meticulously crafted French-Japanese confections.

Signature Products with a Singaporean Twist

Henri Charpentier is committed to creating freshly baked cakes and pastries tailored to the tastes of the local market. This dedication to quality means that every item you see in stores is baked fresh daily, rather than being imported from Japan. By focusing on local production, we are able to innovate and introduce flavours unique to Singapore. Among these creations are the Baked Singapore Sling Financier, and the Pandan Madeleine, a tropical twist on a classic French favourite.

Over the past 10 years, Henri Charpentier has expanded its presence in Singapore. From Orchard, to River Valley and into the CBD, each of our store’s reflect our commitment to excellence. Over 60% of our sales in Singapore come from our fresh cakes, such as the beloved Shortcake and Double Cheesecake. These cakes are handcrafted daily by our team of chef’s, using the highest quality fresh ingredients – perfect for your special celebrations.

What’s sweeter than a birthday? Sharing one, of course! On October 9th, as we celebrate 10 wonderful years of Henri Charpentier in Singapore, we want to make your special day even more memorable. If you share our Singaporean birthday – October 9th, we invite you to visit any of our retail stores for a very special gift.

Bring a responsible adult and your ID, and receive a complimentary Strawberry Shortcake, crafted with layers of delicate sponge, the finest whipped cream, and the freshest strawberries. It’s our way of celebrating you and the joy of sharing life’s most delightful moments with those you love.

Terms and conditions

Participation in this Giveaway is subject to the terms and conditions set out below:
The Giveaway [“Contest”] is organised by Suzette International Pte Ltd [“the Organiser”] and is open to all Singaporean residents with an address in Singapore, who meet the below criteria.

Duration
This Contest will run from October 9th – October 13th, 2024 [“the Contest Period”]. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Contest Period at any time. All entries received outside the Contest Period will be disqualified.

1. Eligibility:

  • The Contest is open for Singapore residents with an address in Singapore for children who were born on October 9, 2014.
  • Only one cake per eligible child can be redeemed at any of Henri Charpentier six outlets.
  • Pick up only, no delivery.
 

2. Collection Period:

  • The giveaway can be redeemed between October 9 and October 13, 2024, during normal store hours.
 

3. Redemption Process:

  • The child’s parent or guardian must present the child’s valid ID (e.g., student pass, dependent pass, birth certificate, passport, or any other government-issued identification) to confirm the child’s birthdate.
  • The store staff will record the name of the child and ID number for verification purposes to prevent double redemption.
 

4. Cake Details:

  • The giveaway cake is Henri Charpentier’s Signature Strawberry Shortcake (12cm), and no upgrades, exchanges, or substitutions to other cakes or products are allowed.
  • At the redemption, chocolate tag of Happy Birthday, candles (up to 10), or one cake knife for free.
  • The Prize is not transferable and subject to availability. However, Suzette International Pte Ltd reserves the right to substitute the Prize with another of equivalent value without giving prior notice.
  • The Prize is awarded “as is”. To the fullest extent permissible by applicable law, Suzette International Pte Ltd disclaims all warranties representations or guarantees, express or implied, in fact, or in law, in respect of any aspect of the Prize including, without limitation, quality, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and the winner shall not look to Suzette International Pte Ltd for such warranties or claims, if any.
 

5. Photo Opportunity (Optional):

  • With the parent/guardian’s consent, the child may participate in a photo opportunity with an Instagram frame and post the photo to our 10th Anniversary account.
  • By participating in the photo, the parent/guardian agrees to grant Henri Charpentier the right to use the photos on social media and marketing materials related to the anniversary event.
 

6. Data Protection:

  • The personal information (name and ID number) collected during the redemption process will be used solely for verification purposes and will not be shared with any third parties. All data will be securely stored in accordance with local data protection laws.
 

7. General Conditions:

  • Henri Charpentier reserves the right to disqualify any participant who does not comply with these Terms & Conditions.
  • Henri Charpentier is not responsible for any lost or stolen ID documents during the verification process.
 

8. Modification and Termination:

  • Henri Charpentier reserves the right to modify or terminate this promotion at any time without prior notice in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
 

Liability & Responsibility

All recording, transportation, accommodation, personal costs and/or any other costs, fees and/or other expenses that are incurred to participate in this Contest and to redeem the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.
The Organiser is not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction, unauthorised access to, or alteration of, user or member communications, or any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of e-mail or players on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet and/or websites.
